Dr. Honey Makhija completed his education at Kingston University, London, and returned to India in 2019 to lead the family business. Driven by his passion and vision, he established a state-of-the-art rice processing plant in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, focused on scaling production to meet both domestic and international demand. Under his leadership, the unit has expanded rapidly, reaching a current capacity of 1,000 metric tons per day, making it one of India’s most efficient and export-oriented rice processing facilities.
In 1967, Mr. Vasudev Makhija established the family’s first rice mill after returning from Ghana, starting with a capacity of 20-30 quintals per day. The business grew significantly under the second generation, led by Mr. Dhanesh Makhija, expanding to four units producing 550 tons daily. Today, with Dr. Honey Makhija at the helm, the family runs six units, reaching a combined production of 1,000 tons per day, supported by a new 100% export-oriented entity, setting new standards for growth and international reach.
